Today is Love Conquers All Day – a day to cherish our loved ones. Love is a strong emotion and a favorite literary theme. It was Virgil, the Ancient Roman poet who said: “Love conquers all; let us too, yield to love. No force in the world can’t be overcome by the power of love.”
And it was The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who said: “Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.”
So today I want to take the opportunity to share comments made by Carla Guelfenbein, Alfaguara-award winner and internationally recognized author of 8 novels including In The Distance with You, about my novel When We Return:
“Eliana Tobias has managed in this moving and intelligent novel to show us two characters who, coming from very different worlds, at the end are telling the same story. The story of disarray, discrimination, and injustice. Showing us as well that hate is eveywhere and the only antidote we have is memory and love.”
I invite you to learn more about When We Return, how the characters reeling from sorrowful and turbulent journeys find love and companionship in a protected and safe environment.
